AT HOME EUTHANASIA

Knowing when it is time to say goodbye to our beloved pets is often a difficult and highly emotional time. Humane euthanasia is a caring and gentle option and is often the kindest, most loving choice we can make to help our pets go with peace and dignity.

Being at home with your pet during this time keeps him or her in familiar and comfortable surroundings and allows you the time, space and privacy to say goodbye in your own way.I can also arrange for cremation if you wish, and you can choose whether or not you would like to have your pet’s ashes returned to you. I work with ACS Cremation Services, a family-owned company who will handle your pet’s aftercare with kindness and respect. If you are not sure if that time has come, please don’t hesitate to call me; I will always be sensitive and caring with any questions or concerns you may have.

A home euthanasia can be done outside, weather permitting, or wherever your pet is most comfortable in your home. An injection of a sedative is given first to ease your pet’s discomfort and allow your pet to transition to a calm and deep sleep free of any pain before the final injection is administered. If aftercare arrangements are requested, your pet will be carefully wrapped in a blanket to be carried out to my vehicle (large dogs are placed on a special stretcher first before moving to vehicle).
