Hello! I’m Dr. Connie Medling, veterinarian, and owner of Pet Country Housecall Veterinary Services. I attended East Central College in Union, MO and the University of Missouri in Columbia for undergraduate studies, and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.

After working as an associate veterinarian in both private and corporate practices and shelter medicine in the Sullivan area and St Louis, I realized the time was right to start my own practice in 2013 and “go mobile,” bringing quality veterinary services to clients’ homes. It has always been my desire to provide exceptional and compassionate care for pets and their owners and the opportunity for everyone to have access to convenient and affordable veterinary services.

Although my roots go back to Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, I have called Missouri home for over 30 years. My husband, Richard, and I share our home with two special dogs: Huck, a blue heeler mix, and Lucy, an Aussie mix. We have two sons and are blessed beyond measure with two amazing granddaughters.

I am an avid reader, crossword puzzle addict, and enjoy baking, travel and spending quality time with friends and family.

What to expect with our housecall veterinary services.

Allow yourself enough time for your appointment; be sure to have your pets in a place where they will be easy to get to and examine. A small room/bathroom may work well for nervous or hard-to-catch cats. Be sure your pet is at home and cannot hide under a bed or porch.

Most routine appointments take between 30 minutes to 1 hour. Seeing multiple pets during the same visit may, of course, take longer, as will visits for sick pets, behavioral consults, etc. You will have my undivided attention, and we will have time to address any questions or concerns.

I will bring a digital scale to record your pet’s weight; I can accurately weigh pets between just a few ounces up to 225 pounds!

A veterinary assistant will accompany me to your housecall appointment if you are uncomfortable holding or otherwise unable to help restrain your pet.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You will be responsible for the housecall fee if you cancel your scheduled appointment after I have already arrived at your home, or if you are not at home for your scheduled appointment (this does not apply to euthanasia appointments).
